Morning
Bird's Room

The smaller bedroom
is decorated in a very restful Edwardian decor. Here you
will see ostrich feathers, sequins, wicker work, opulent
picture frames holding the ancestors of the family, vintage
bags in frames and beautiful vintage lace curtains....
No you are still in the 21st century.

The
single bed is dressed in black and gold, with many
pillows to lose yourself in. Have many sweet dreams
in this luxurious bedding.
|
Here
you can see one of the gorgeous lace panels, the
under layer has been removed to let the light flood
in to the room. The shelf unit hold your tea-set,
again an antique, where you can have your morning
or evening cuppa!

A
wicker bedhead allows you to lean comfortably against
your pillows and not come in contact with the wall.
The crochered shawl is covered with sequins to match
the hat on the dresser.

Again
one of the beautiful hand made vintage lace curtains,
this time with the underlaying in position.

Morning Bird's room is so called
in honor of Chuck's mother, Ethel Derby, who was also
known as Morning Bird. She passed away in 1975 and is
sorely missed by the whole family. Morning Bird made many
beautiful Pipestone crafts. Her parents were the first
Native American family to reside in Pipestone back in
1927.
However the photographs in the frames
are of Gloria's family in England. Real Edwardians!
